A SUCCESSFUL Dorchester cheerleading group is holding an open day today.
The Distinction Cheerleaders recently won their first competition at senior level to make it three wins out of three in British Cheerleading Association Competitions.
The group is now looking to attract new recruits to boost its squad with a series of sessions for people to come along and join in practice to see if cheerleading is for them.
The first session at the YMCA Gym Hall in the county town is for six to nine-year-olds and runs from noon till 1pm for a cost of just £1. Two further sessions, which both cost £2, will run for eight to 12-year-olds from 1pm to 3pm and for people aged 13 and over from 3pm to 5pm.
