THE ROTARY Club of Dorchester Casterbridge has again displayed its generosity by supporting two local causes.
The club handed over a cheque for £1,360 to the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust from funds raised in its Christmas collection.
Rotarians have also backed the annual Skate Jam event scheduled for the town’s skate park on April 28 by providing a cheque for £200 to the organisers.
After the donation was made to the Weldmar, a club spokesman said: “The Casterbridge Club is keen to display its support for the local community at every chance and the annual sleigh collection provides the perfect opportunity to get behind Weldmar, an organisation that uniquely serves the area.
“As always it’s only due to the extraordinary generosity of the public that we are able to raise enough money to hopefully make a difference for Weldmar.”
