• James Robins, 40, a Weymouth baker, said the salaries were shockingly high. He said: “They should not be earning that much money. It seems that they are costing us more and more.”
• Ian Carson, 49, a chef who lives in Littlemoor, said: “These sums are shocking. Especially when so many people in Weymouth are struggling on the minimum wage.”
• Paula Pollin, 44, who lives on Portland, said that the council salaries are ‘definitely’ too high. She added: “This money could be spent on other things such as providing housing.”
• John Marston, 77, who is retired and lives in Wyke Regis, said the salaries were in line with other authorities. He said: “As long as they do their job properly I don’t think it’s too much money”.
