A TEENAGER was knocked down as he left a hairdressing salon after having his hair cut in Weymouth.

He suffered cuts and bruises in the collision involving a Kia car on Spa Road, Weymouth, at around 12.30pm on Saturday.

He had his hair cut at Just Cuts on Spa Road and was leaving the salon when the incident happened.

A member of staff at the salon said she had cut his hair shortly before the incident and that it happened as he crossed the road outside.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance service said that the boy was taken to Dorset County Hospital with cuts and bruises.

One witness, a resident of Spa Road, said: “He ran out and just didn’t see the car coming.

“He had cut his hand and his head and was taken off in an ambulance.

“It wasn’t very serious but he was really shaken up by it.

“The woman wasn’t driving very fast at all and was also shaken up. It was just one of those things.”

It is believed the youth was about 16.

A spokeswoman from Dorset Police said: “We were called at 12.33pm to a road traffic collision between a Kia Sorrento and a pedestrian on Spa Road.

“The victim sustained minor injuries.”
