A NEW bus route has being started on a trial basis to link Bothenhampton with Bridport town centre after a service was re-routed recently.
Dorset County Council has launched the Bothenhampton Community Bus service for a six-month trial.
The new service is for anyone in Bothenhampton who is unable to walk to the bus stop to catch the number 44 public bus service, which was recently re-routed. The community bus will also be accessible for wheelchair users and will run on Mondays and Fridays.
The bus will pick up Bothenhampton passengers at 11am at the junction of Hollow Way and Crock Lane and drop off at 11.15 at Frosts in East Street, Bridport.
It will leave West Street at 1.15pm and return to Bothenhampton around 1.30 at Hollow Way and Crock Lane junction.
To use the Bothenhampton Community bus, residents should register their journeys and book ahead by contacting Dorset Direct on 01305 221059.
Initial registration costs £1; the adult return fare is £1.50, a child return is £1 and concessionary bus passes can be used.
