RAIL passengers faced major delays after a man was killed after being hit by a train on the Weymouth-Waterloo line.
The fatality happened at Surbiton in Surrey yesterday afternoon but the whole line was plunged into chaos for the evening rush-hour.
Services faced heavy delays because of the line being closed for an investigation and some were cancelled.
Paramedics were alerted to Surbiton station after a man believed to be in his 20s was hit by a Portsmouth to London train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Weymouth-Waterloo services were ordered to make made additional stops in Hampshire and Surrey.
