BURLESQUE artist Beatrix Von Bourbon said she is proud of herself despite losing out on the Britain’s Got Talent crown.

The former Colfox and Beaminster School pupil received some criticism for her cami knickers and routine in the semi-final.

But she says she didn’t mind the harsh fashion critique – or even being voted off the show.

Her job was done, she said, having brought burlesque to a much wider audience.

After the show Beatrix said she was absolutely fine with the result and added: “I am tired but I am good. I was just over the moon to get into the live semis.

“I was just so happy with David Walliams’ comments. Before I felt he hadn’t really connected with what I did.

“He said this time he could see there was artistry in what I did and it started to make more sense to him and that was really rewarding.

“It was only one person but if there is just one person that I have introduced burlesque to then I have done a great job for my industry so I am really happy with that.”

The talent show was eventually won by Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey the dog.

Beatrix said that she had a few offers after appearing on the show.

“I have had a few tweets from interesting people, some about work, some just about networking so it looks like I have nudged a door open for myself. I am interested to see where it goes from here although I don’t think I could possibly second guess at this stage.

“It’s definitely been a once- in-a-lifetime experience. I don’t think I have ever been so excited and then also as stressed as I have been in the last two weeks.

“It has been incredibly intense.”

She added: “I have had messages from people who’d seen my auditions and my semi number and said they are really interested.”

The work is still coming for Beatrix and she’s going to Germany at the end of May and later in the summer to Berlin as a judge for an annual burlesque contest.
