ARTWORK created by Portland students will be brightening up London’s Olympic Park to welcome international visitors.

A team of Revive Portland community group members are off to the capital city tomorrow to mark UK Inspire day in a creative way.

They will be presenting 200 student-made posters to London 2012 organisers to welcome international visitors to the United Kingdom for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Revive Portland leader, Yvonne Beven said: “The artwork will be displayed in the media centre within the Olympic Park.

“At the end of the Games members of the accredited media team from all over the world will be given an original piece of art to take back to their home nation as a memento of London 2012. So who knows where the student’s pictures will end up?”

UK Inspire Day is a celebration of the London 2012 Inspire programme. Revive Portland is one of 2,700 projects across the UK to have been granted the prestigious London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme which recognises exceptional projects inspired by the 2012 Games.
