POLICE seized cannabis and made two arrests in a raid on a property in Bridport.

Officers arrested a man aged 20 and a woman aged 21 on suspicion of cultivating cannabis after swooping on an address in North Street.

They have been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

PC Scott McGregor said: “This is part of the ongoing initiative taken by Bridport officers to tackle and disrupt the supply of controlled drugs in the Bridport police area.

“It again demonstrates the value of information gained from the community which, if passed through to local police officers and safer neighbourhood teams, shows what tangible results can be achieved.

“I would again reiterate the continuing need for such information to come from you, the community, to allow us to take pro-active action in stamping out the scourge of such drugs and associated criminality within our town.

“I appeal to the public to come forward to help us, help you.

“We can be contacted in the strictest confidence on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.”
