ORGANISATIONS are invited to attend a conference that will outline changes once Dorset’s new Police and Crime Commissioner is in place.
The new role, which will replace the police authority, will offer opportunities for ‘greater engagement and partnership working,’ says Dorset Community Action (DCA).
Organisations that address equality and diversity and which seek to reduce crime and reoffending, antisocial behaviour, substance misuse, violence against women and girls and youth crime are invited to attend the conference DCA is organising.
It will be held at the Dorford Centre, Dorchester on Wednesday, September 12 from 2pm-5pm.
Mark Norris from the Local Government Association will give a national perspective on opportunities afforded by the police reforms, while Dorset Police Deputy Chief Constable Debbie Simpson will speak on the topic ‘Building Safer Communities through Stronger Partnership.’ There will also be a chance to find out from a panel of experts how the new partnerships and commissioning arrangements will work.
To see a more detailed agenda and to book your place at the conference call DCA on 01305 250921 or visit the website: dorsetcommunityaction.org.uk
