EMERGENCY services have been alerted to Weymouth Beach following an incident believed to involve the powerboat race at sea.
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has landed on the beach near the Pavilion and a section of the Esplanade has been closed by police.
The Portland Coastguard helicopter is hovering and police and coastguard officers are on the beach and near the Pavilion site.
A two-day national powerboat racing championship finale is being held in Weymouth Bay this weekend.
