ACCOMMODATION which housed athletes on Portland during the Olympics has won another national design award.

It is the fifth national award for Zero C’s Olympic athletes village at Officers’ Field.

The scheme won Best Development at the prestigious Sunday Times British Homes Awards against very stiff competition.

Earlier this year the development won Best Development at the Building Awards and three awards at the Housing Design Awards including Supreme Winner.

Managing director of Zero C Kim Slowe said: “Receiving so much national recognition for Officers’ Field is an accolade to all who participated in the delivery of this very high quality scheme.”

More than half the houses at Officers’ Field have now been reserved or sold and, following the Olympics, the remainder are now back on sale.

The 77 eco homes feature the latest environmentally-friendly technology. A quarter have been made available for social housing needs.

Zero C managed the properties during the Olympics and Paralympics and made sure the homes were properly maintained.
