A PLAN to increase the size of two blocks of flats due to be built in a leafy cul-de-sac has been refused.
The site in Courtauld Drive, off Wyke Road in Weymouth, has been the subject of a number of applications in the past including one which ended up going to appeal and was supported by a planning inspector.
Applicant Lomand Homes was granted permission to demolish an existing house and a chalet bungalow and replace them with two blocks of flats plus parking. Weymouth and Portland planning councillors refused the amended plans at a meeting , despite a report recommending the scheme subject to conditions.
Several neighbouring residentshad opposied the plans.
