THE next stage in Weymouth’s efforts to become a Business Improvement District (BID) town will be a consultation event taking place this Wednesday.

Businesses in the designated BID area covering the town centre, harbour, seafront and Preston have been invited to attend one of two workshops and consultation meetings, which will take place at 2pm and 6pm at Weymouth Pavilion Ocean Room.

Chairman of the Weymouth BID Nigel Reed said: “The meetings provide the opportunity for people to contribute their ideas for promoting the area their business operates in.

“The workshops will look in more detail at the ‘Just 5’ proposals set out in the BID information pack sent to each business within the potential BID area.

“This feedback will help form the Business Plan for the Weymouth BID.”

The five proposals will consider how to tackle the inherent seasonality, improve customers’ experience, provide better visitor information, make a night out a great night out, and measure the success of these proposals.

There are just over 500 businesses eligible to vote in the BID Ballot, which will take place next year.

Businesses are encouraged to register their interest in the meetings with Nigel Reed on 07557 142906.
