Autumn Adult Learning Brochure Out Now!

With a huge range of activities and classes around the county, there’s something for everyone in Dorset Adult Learning’s autumn brochure which is out now.

Janet Beauchamp, DAL’s Service Manager for Curriculum Quality and Learner Services says: “There are literally hundreds of courses to choose from all around Dorset. I’m particularly proud of our languages programme, for which we have just won a prestigious European award. Our Skills for Life programmes were graded good in our recent OFSTED inspection too.”

You can enrol for courses on line, by post or by speaking to a customer care adviser. Adult learning is open to anybody aged 16+ and courses last anything from two hours to an academic year. Courses and programmes take place during the day and evening, during week days and at weekends offering great flexibility and choice.

Arts, crafts and media are always popular with demand expected to be high for a series of Saturday workshops about the Italian Renaissance, Botticelli, art in Florence and Soviet Russia. Why not make some jewellery or flouncy voile flowers or try a Drawing for the Terrified course to boost your confidence?

Personal development, stress management and self esteem are under the spotlight in the ever popular Yourself & Others programme. A range of IT courses at are available together with business workshops. You may like to invest in your future with an NVQ or study for a GCSE or an A level. Health, sport, fitness, leisure and beauty therapy are in strong demand with complementary therapies and counselling skills also on offer. You may like to tickle your taste buds with a cookery course, learn a new language or brush up rusty skills or study psychology. Help is at hand for anybody needing to improve their English and Maths or for those whose first language is not English.
