PEOPLE in Dorset who have questions about God are invited along to a Dorchester church.

A controversial decision by the congregation at Dorch-ester Family Church will see normal Sunday worship cancelled for six weeks from Sunday, April 14.

Instead, anyone with questions about God, the church, Bible or Christianity can pop into the North Square church for an Alpha course session with refreshments.

It will start at 10.15am and include listening to music, a short talk from the Alpha course and a question and answer time.

Church elder Gary Fry said: “At one point during the morning the best of the questions will be beamed up on to a big screen and the hosts will try to answer it, if they can.

“Visitors can make any point about Christianity or why Christians do what they do.

“We think it is the first time a church has done this and we are really looking forward to it.”

The church congregation meet at The Corn Exchange and it is a friendly, growing church congregation, which enjoys a modern contemporary style of worship.

DFC has an energetic youth programme and a number of small groups called Connect Groups that meet on various evenings during the week to connect within the community.
