DID your ancestors live in Corfe Mullen or the surrounding area during the First World War? Did any of them serve in the forces? What was life like in the village?

The Priest's House Museum is hosting an event at the Small Hall at Corfe Mullen village hall from 1pm to 4pm on Friday, March 2, as part of its project, The One Hundred Year Heritage of the First World War for Wimborne and East Dorset.

The project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, aims to record the lives of people from East Dorset who served in the forces and those who stayed behind, such as women who took on jobs left vacant by men. The information will be made available on the project website, eastdorsetfirstworldwar.org.

If you have any photographs or press cuttings relating to the local area, or to individuals, please bring them along. Advice will be available to answer family history enquiries, including how to access online military records.
