CAN anyone help a Looking Back reader from Bristol with an intriguing query about a cottage in the woods?

Mark Foot of Nailsea, Bristol, has been researching his family tree and found that his great great grandfather lived in a cottage in Up Cerne Wood, where his 15 children were brought up. He worked for the Up Cerne Manor estate for 40 years as woodman and keeper.

The cottage was occupied by others after his death in 1923, Mark said.

In 1960 the cottage, along with several other cottages in Up Cerne, were demolished.

Mark said: "I would love to know if a picture of the cottage survives and would be extremely grateful to hear from anyone with news."

Get in touch if you know of and have a picture of the cottage.
