SEE how people used to live in Bere Regis with a photographic exhibition.

Bere Regis A Step Back In Time is being held at Bere Regis Village Hall on Sunday, March 24 and will contain hundreds of images of the village.

The exhibition will contain a real social history of village life including industry, the old bakery at Bemisters Stores in West Street, local businesses, framing, the watercress beds, village organisations, street views, now and then, the shops, churches, sport - both football and cricket - over the years.

There will also be an interesting section on Bere Regis education and the many schools that existed and examples of carnival photos from over the decades and photos and life summaries of people included in the book A Step Back In Time.

It will be open from 10am to 4pm with a small charge of £3 in aid of Bere Regis School and there will be refreshments and homemade cakes on sale.

Alison Bennett, one of the exhibition's organisers, said: "This is a great chance to catch up with local people, also to see how we used to live and delight in this wonderful collection of photographs.

"Do come along and support this event and enjoy the many images that are there they will give you incredible snap shots of the past and raise money for the future generation by supporting the local primary school."
