CAN anyone help a classic car fan find out more about his vehicle and its origins?

David Millar, who lives near Edinburgh, is keen to find out more about his classic car and the garage it came from. It was supplied new from a Ford garage (Parkway Ford) in the Weymouth area and with an Upwey telephone number.

David has spoken to a local historian and Weymouth Museum, where staff have informed him that a local directory for 1974 shows Parkway Ford at Redlands Garage, 318 Dorchester Road, Weymouth.

He was told: “A local directory for 1974 shows Parkway Ford at Redlands Garage, 318 Dorchester Road, Weymouth. This would have had an Upwey telephone number at that time."

David writes: "The car was first registered in 1980 and the handbook folder shows a Ford main dealer called Parkway Ford (Dorchester and Weymouth), with the service book stamped Weymouth. The original owner appears to have been a lady from Stanier Road, Preston."

He added: "Ideally I am looking for any images of the garage and, in particular, the dealer logo (as usually seen on number plates, tax disc holders, etc) but any small amount of information would be great."
