THIS image brings back vivid memories of the once beautiful Maiden Street Methodist Church in Weymouth.

With fairy lights strung across the street and enticing views of the building's intricate detail, it makes for a stunning picture.

It all seems like a different time to now, when we see the building a sad shadow of its former self after being damaged in a fire in 2002.

Some of you remember attending a youth club at the church in the 1960s - do get in touch with your memories of those days.

It's also timely for us to be looking back at the church this week as in recent days we heard that the church is a potential candidate for restoration.

The Victorian Society is compiling a list of Top 10 Endangered Buildings of 2019 and is asking residents of England and Wales to nominate their picks for the most neglected Victorian buildings.

As previously reported by the Echo, the church was expected to be developed into 25 flats.

Anyone wishing to nominate a building should email their suggestion to media@victoriansociety.org.uk, giving the age and location of the building as well as a reason why it should be included on the list.
