This joyful photo taken by Dorset Evening Echo photographer Harry Green couldn’t be more timely.

He’s captured children taking great pleasure in riding the donkeys on Weymouth beach.

This comes at the same time as we’ve been collating many happy memories of Weymouth beach.

This week we also heard from Jill Baldry, who wanted Thelma Brown, who shared her memories last week, to know that she also knew Mr Meech the photographer. Jill worked for him in the late 60s and remembers him as a kind man and a very good boss. He is sadly missed since his death, she writes.

Jill then went to work for Mr Chambers on the seafront taking pictures of holidaymakers. She writes: “His wife Nancy used to work in the kiosk, and she used to say that my shorts were TOO short. Another lovely man. He used to buy us ice ream in Rossi’s. That was in1967.”
