After last week's fascinating article on the history of Weymouth Town Bridge by Richard Samways, we were delighted to receive this little snippet of information.
Sue Taylor got in touch to let us know that the 1824 bridge was actually rehomed in Briantspuddle.
It was rebuilt as the bridge over the River Piddle in Briantspuddle in 1928, and very much still in use today, though it is about to be repaired.
Sue very kindly encloses some photos of the bridge being rebuilt in Briantspuddle. What a great little Dorset fact!
