Who remembers the old scout camp next to Chickerell Road in Weymouth?
It was where the new Co-Op store and the Curtis Fields development are now.
These pictures, from 1967, show some artfully constructed tents, an assault course and some scouts relaxing at the camp.
Thanks to Graham Perry for sharing these photos with our We Grew Up in Weymouth and Portland Facebook group.

As Graham points out, the sign on the tents reads Weymouth North and there were obviously a lot of scouts who attended this camp.
It is also believed this Chickerell Road site was used for a steam fair and a donkey derby.
