Who used to swim off Weymouth's Pleasure Pier?
Sue Hogben from our Facebook nostalgia group We Grew Up in Weymouth and Portland has many happy memories of swimming off the pier.

Swimmers would pay a toll at the entrance and make their way down to the swimming area.
Sue says: "There used to be an amusement arcade half way down. At the weekend Weymouth Brass band used to play there also, with loads of people sat round in deckchairs. That's in the day when it was actually a pleasure pier. The photo is of my big sister Pauline Cox (nee Darch) second from bottom."
