With their leather jackets, motorbikes and cigarettes this lot knew how to do cool.

This group of local lads called themselves the Forte’s Mob and they met at Forte’s café at No 1 Frederick Place, Weymouth, in the 1950s and 1960s.

The gang of friends would now be in their 70s.

The 'mob' started up in the 1970s and grew in numbers as more and more people wanted to join them!

On Sundays they would line up their bikes outside the Electric Lighthouse and we used to go out for a ride somewhere. There were usually about 20 or 30 of them out.

The gang, who first became friends at the age of 15, would meet up whenever they could and it wasn't just the guys' domain - girls were members too.

And when they reached the age of 18 they would go out drinking and dancing together.

'Lonks Cryer' is identified as one of the gang members lying on his back in the picture of the group relaxing. Apparently he rode a 650 Matchless! Other gang members were Rodney May, Bob McAlpine and Dennis Lawley.
