Here's an old picture showing a very important building from Weymouth's history.
It played an integral part in the socio-economic history of Weymouth and the same site looks very diffenrent today.
The site also changed hands on several occasions.
If you guessed that this picture was taken at the Wellworthy site of Whitehead's Torpedo works in Wyke Regis, then well done!
This was originally the site of Whitehead's Torpedo works which developed missiles for use by the Royal Navy for decades.
It was later run by Vickers before Wellworthy Engineering took over.
Now, as we can see from the modern-day scene below, it has become another housing development.
