Here's another old photo for you to guess the location of.

These gardens were laid out in the 1870s on land belonging to Sir Frederick Johnstone, who owned much land in Weymouth.

The gardens were originally a series of gravelled walkways and hedges but the gardens were extended and developed through the 20th century and now include a bowling green, tennis courts and a putting course.

If you guessed that this was an image of Greenhill Gardens in Weymouth then well done! You do know the area well.

Here's how the same view looks today.

Dorset Echo:

Gardens owner Sir Frederick Johnstone also owned much of the land in the Dorchester Road and Greenhill area.
