Can you guess the location of this old photo?
You may recognise it straight away because this beautiful old pub was only demolished in 2013.
The pub itself, the White Hart, closed in the early 2000s.
In the mid 1980s several musicians played at this venue on Monday nights - mainly traditional English, Irish and Scottish tunes and songs.
The core people playing were all involved in folk bands based in this town and were joined by varying numbers of listeners, players and singers. Instruments featured were guitars, whistles, recorders, bodhran, mandolin and fiddles, sometimes accordions.
When this pub was demolished, its famous White Hart statue was preserved and can now be seen today at the new development which replaced it.
Here's an image of the pub being demolished.
If you guessed that the location of this old photo was the White Hart pub in High East Street, Dorchester, then well done, you do know the area well!
Here's the same scene today - can you spot the White Hart statue?
