There was some sad news on Thursday with the death of Bay City Rollers frontman Les McKeown announced.
The former teen idol passed away suddenly at the tender age of 65.
Tragically Les was booked in to be one of many acts returning to Weymouth Pavilion for its big post-pandemic reopening later this year.
Les McKeown's Bay City Rollers were due to play on September 15.
I have some great memories of interviewing Les five years ago ahead of one of many gigs he played at Weymouth Pavilion.
Honest to a fault, he didn't shy away from talking about the many dark times he'd experienced and when I asked him what advice he'd give to to today’s young heart-throbs who are by-products of an ever-fickle record industry, he said: “I would tell them that I think they should back off so that I can sell more records!”
