It's not often that a new signing for Weymouth FC causes a major stir.
But that's exactly what happened back in the 1990s when the Terras signed Darren Campbell, a footballer who went on to become an award-winning athlete.
Campbell played for the club during the 1995/96 season.

At the time he came to Weymouth he was sponsored by the sports kit manufacturer Puma – hence the name shaved in to his hair!
The year after playing for Weymouth, Campbell ran in the Atlanta Olympics and in 1997 won bronze in the 4x100m men’s relay in the World Championships.
