Have you any idea where this old picture of coastal Dorset was taken?
These charming cottages are close to the sea and you can see groups of youngsters gathered outside.
This is a very old photo but early photographers could obviously see the inherent charm of these old cottages.
Such thatched cottages were to be found in every village in this area.
The ruins of a 17th century cottage can still be found at the end of this street. Originally a substantial thatched cottage, it later fell into ruin in the early 20th century; its remains are now incorporated into a small store.
If you guessed that this is an old photo of Brandy Row in Chiswell, Portland then well done! You do know the area well!
