Thanks so much to a reader for supplying us with this fascinating photo, which was taken by photographer W.H. Cumming.
It's of King Street, Weymouth taken from the Esplanade, in bygone days and it's very old - if anyone can pin it down to a particular year we'd love to hear from you!
This picture certainly transports us back to a forgotten era - every man and woman is wearing a hat and in the foreground we can see a large, elegant pram being pushed up onto the pavement.
Advertising signs are everywhere. The building on the right is advertising F.Bird Colliery Proprietors, another publicising G.Bryer Ash, steam and gas coals and a name many of you will be familiar with - Hawkes Freeman the furnishers.
Further along is a pub, the Sun Inn, with dining rooms advertised in the building next door. We can also see an advert for cash, chemist, stationery and pictorial post cards.
The view looking north is very different from today - there is little development and a view of green fields in the distance.
As you can see from this modern day photo King Street is much changed and more often than not heavy with traffic.
