Hi readers. Recently we found out about a big NHS consultation going on in Dorset, which aims to find out what people in Dorset think about how the NHS can make health services in Dorset better.

To find out what the NHS is proposing to do, you can read about the consultation on their website. We found watching their two short videos was the easiest way for us to understand their plans. One of the videos does a good job of explaining their plans for the three main hospitals in Dorset. The other video explained their ideas for introducing twelve community hubs.

The NHS wants to hear from the Dorset community about their ideas. From what we watched in the two short videos, their proposals seem sensible and practical. We like the idea of the NHS bringing services together to make their money go further, and give everyone in Dorset a better service – and ultimately better health.

You may have a different view though, and the NHS wants to hear the thoughts of as many people as possible, especially if you have better ideas on how to improve health services in Dorset! If you want to find out more, have a look at this NHS website for more information https://www.csr.dorsetsvision.nhs.uk/. If you don’t use a computer, you can call 01202 541946 and they will help you.

The consultation is open until 28th February, so you still have plenty of time to read about it and respond.

As the NHS says on their website, it is ‘mine, yours, ours’. We think it’s good that everyone gets a chance to have their voice heard before any changes are made, so if you haven’t already taken part, today we encourage you to have your say too!
