LEGENDARY singer Ray Dorset, also known as Mungo Jerry, will be helping to ensure the Summer Breeze season at Poole Quay ends on a high note next week.

He will be performing at the Fish Shambles on Thursday, August 31, opposite the Lord Nelson on Poole Quay, playing hits including his renowned song In the Summertime as well as rock and blues numbers from his critically acclaimed albums.

Sponsored by Breeze Volkswagen, the free event is part of Wave 105’s Summertime in the South at Poole Quay every Thursday evening in August before finishing with a firework finale at 10pm.

Music continues on the night with Celtic rock from Black Sheep and the Choir on the Quay, which will see a group of local choirs performing A song for sea music as part of the celebration of Sir Anthony Caro’s Sea Music Sculpture plus other popular tunes.

John Corderoy, Managing Director of Breeze Volkswagen, said: “This is the second time Mungo Jerry has performed at Poole’s Summer Breeze. He was such a hit last year so it’s fantastic to welcome him back.

“His music perfectly captures the summer party mood and we are really lucky to have such a popular performer back with us for the final night of season.”
