HERE'S a wonderful story from the archives to share with you.
Two rooks and a magpie were named in the £34,000 will of Ethel Pringle of Charmouth.
Taken from the Dorset Evening Echo archive of June 22, 1971, the article tells how rook Mavis, went with £250 to a woman Miss Pringle knew in the village and a Mrs Taylor inherited Jackie the magpie, Crowie Crowie, the other rook, and perhaps more importantly - £400!
Mrs Taylor didn’t seem too taken aback by her unusual acquisition - she already looked after seagulls covered in oil.
