THE appearance of an historic Weymouth site which has fallen into disrepair has been improved with colourful banners.

Work is currently being undertaken on Brewers Quay in Hope Square to repair the buildings with hoardings and fencing.

Following concerns about site looking untidy by locals, We Are Weymouth has worked with the owners of Brewers Quay to improve the appearance of the square and erect banners which aim to promote the town's beach, shops and nightlife.

Dawn Rondeau, chief operations officer at We Are Weymouth, said: “The We Are Weymouth Operations team has been working with the new owners of Brewers Quay to erect Heras Fencing Covers around the exterior of the site whilst building works take place.

"We’re so pleased to see that this iconic building is undergoing much needed restoration and development and we’re happy to have been able to help with keeping the beauty, vibrancy and café culture of Hope Square alive during this time.

"A Business Improvement District (BID) is by design involved in Improving the business environment and a large part of our mission here at We Are Weymouth is to undertake ‘Improve’ projects such as this, which really show how we can make a difference in helping to make the town look and feel better.”
