THE Magpies were once again left frustrated by the weather in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.

In fact, Phil Simkin couldn’t decide whether the postponement against Hayes & Yeading was a blessing or a curse, as the campaign continues to be blighted by endless disruptions.

The Dorchester Town boss told Echosport: “I was not surprised it was called off, and to be honest I don’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

“It gives Kieffer Moore a few extra days of rest following his thigh injury, but in terms of the suspensions we have, it doesn’t really make much difference as they will just move on now to another game.

“It has just been one of those seasons really. In fact, I don’t think I have ever known one like it – not one that has seen so many games called off at this level anyway.

“At this rate we are going to be playing three games a week right up until the end of the campaign, but it is what it is, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

“It’s just very frustrating because all we want to do is play.

“You can train as much as you want but there is only so much of that you can do.”

Dorchester’s focus now turns to tomorrow night’s clash against Farnborough Town (7.45pm) at the Avenue Stadium, which will once again see the banned trio of Arran Pugh, Charlie Clough and Nathan Walker all miss out.

When asked how the Avenue Stadium pitch is bearing up, Simkin added: “Had Saturday’s game been at home I doubt it would have been played there either.

“The rain we’ve had has just been unbelievable and all I hope now is that we don’t lose tomorrow night too, as I want Arran back for the home game against Staines on Saturday.

“The league is still very tight and although we are in mid-table at present, I just want to get over that line where we don’t have to look over our shoulders anymore, and four more points should do it.”

Eight other matches were also called off in the division, which sees the Magpies still left with nine games to play before the end of April.

* Dorchester Reserves travel to Salisbury City Reser-ves in the Wyvern Combination Premier Divsion tonight (7.45pm).

* The adverse weather at the weekend also saw Bridport, Portland United, Chickerell United, Weymouth Reserves, Bridport Reserves and Weymouth Sports all have their games postponed.
