DORCHESTER travel to Lewes tonight keen to avenge the defeat in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The Magpies were comprehensively thrashed in October by the Rooks - who were the pre-season favourites for the Nationwide Conference South title but are languishing in mid-table, one spot above 11th-placed Dorchester - when the visitors scored four unanswered goals at the Avenue Stadium.

Magpies' manager Mick Jenkins expects a "big improvement" from Saturday's scoreless draw with Braintree for his team to compete at the Dripping Pan.

"I don't think they did themselves justice on Saturday," said Jenkins. "But we defended vigorously as a team and speaking to some of the players, maybe that was a game they would have lost last season.

"There are going to be occasions like that," he added, referring to the physical style of the opposition and his team's lack of clear goal scoring opportunities. "I am looking for a big improvement against Lewes."

Matt Groves, who started on the bench against Braintree after suffering a slight groin injury in the Dorset Senior Cup win over Shaftesbury last week, is set to start in place of David Town, who is unavailable due to work commitments.
