JASON Matthews claimed the spirit in his Weymouth side at present is the reason for their five-game unbeaten streak.
The Terras have fallen behind in all of their last three league outings but have surged back to take seven points out of a possible nine from losing positions, and currently sit in ninth position in the Southern Premier League table.
Matthews told Echosport: “I feel that the positivity at the club means that we don’t roll over and get beaten easily anymore.”
After going behind to a Matt Lench goal just past the hour mark, an Isaac Vassell wonder-strike ensured Matthews’ men claimed a point against Hitchin Town on Saturday.
On the contest itself, Matthews added: “I wanted three points because we were at home but with the way that the game went, I’ll take a point.
“Hitchin set their game plan out and were hard to break down which we keeps seeming to be the case for us at home. They’ve scored a good goal to be fair to them, but the finish from Isaac was sublime.”
On the prospect of offering members of his squad new contracts for next season, he added: “We are very close to nailing on a budget for next year now so I will know what I’ve got to go with.
“That should be sorted later this week so we will take it on from there.”
