AS the Terras’ title push continues to gather steam, Weymouth fans still have the opportunity to have an impact on their club’s fate through the Wessex Fantasy Football.

The competition, of which a huge majority of entry fees go straight into the squad’s playing budget, has already helped fund the signing of midfield general Chris McPhee, who has been invaluable so far for the Terras’ surge to the top of the pile.

And organiser Ian White in keen to get even more people playing the game to boost the coffers, and allow boss Jason Matthews to strengthen on the pitch further.

White said: “It is clear that we have a great opportunity of making this a season to remember, which if Jason plays all his cards right could end in promotion.

The Wessex Fantasy Football is one of those cards and we intend to play it. We would like to make the money available to Jason to sign at least one more player or maybe two.

“So we need people to all dig deep again, the fans can make a real difference and through the WessexFF we will be able to push our great club to that promotion.”

To sign up and play for the rest of the season costs £40, which can be split up into four monthly payments of £10.

Echoing the rallying call from White, chairman Chris Pugsley added: “Ian has had a good response to the final push to try and strengthen the squad for the last four months of the season and he is looking to get a few more on board which will help the playing budget.

“We are looking to bring in players immediately and hopefully for Saturday.

“The money doesn’t get squandered, it goes straight on to the pitch where the fans want to watch their players, and they have a chance of winning a pound or two as well.”

“We have a brilliant squad but we need maybe three more just to strengthen and cover areas in the games we have got to come.”
