DORCHESTER Tigers under-14 boys’ basketball team were delighted to secure progression to Division One of the South West Regional League, after finishing third in the south section tournament during the first half of the season.
The county town side won at least once against every team in the division, which includes the Plymouth Raiders, Taunton Tigers, Exeter Eagles and Dorset Storm.
The team will now play against the likes of Bristol Flyers, Swindon Sonics and Gloucester Jets, as well as meeting Taunton, Plymouth and Dorset once more.
The Tigers have enjoyed away trips ranging from Penryn to Poole this season and are relishing the next stage of the competition.
Dorchester have also been invited to join an international Basketball tournament in Lille this year, following their successful tour to Bayeux in 2014.
If any other youngsters are interested in joining the Tigers, they train on Saturday mornings at Thomas Hardye School gym.
There are sessions for under-12, under-14 to 16 and under-18 age groups. Details about the Tigers can be found at dorchestertigersbasketball club.com
