DEFENDER Tony James has departed Weymouth and joined fellow Nationwide Conference National side Burton Albion.
The former Hereford United captain has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the Pirelli Stadium after spending just one season with the Terras.
Weymouth player-boss Jason Tindall said: "I am obviously disappointed because I like Tony James a lot as a defender and he was definitely a part of my plans.
"But as I told all the lads last week they have to do what is best for them and their futures.
"As much as I would like all the players to wait around to see what is on offer here, I also live in the real world and understand that they need some security. I just hope we do not lose many more."
Tindall said earlier this week that a Press conference concerning the club's future is being planned for tomorrow.
Speaking this morning, he said: "I have heard that something could happen tomorrow but it is something I am not holding my breath about.
"I understand everyone is working hard to get it sorted but an announcement needs to be made soon otherwise we will have a football club without any players."
