WEYMOUTH chairman Martyn Harrison has asked Terras' fans for "patience" while he ties up negotiations concerning the club's future.

A Press conference was expected to take place today at the Wessex Stadium but it has now been put back to next week.

In a Press statement released yesterday, Harrison said: "The announcement of a Press conference to be held tomorrow has fuelled considerable expectation and rumours in respect of the future of the club.

"Whilst I appreciate everyone wants to know what lies in store, I can confirm that the conference will not now be able to go ahead. This is due to certain factors within our negotiations requiring some late additional work.

"I respect all the views expressed in the speculation but once again, I sincerely ask for your patience. The future needs very careful planning if we are to get the best for the club.

"The time needed so far is entirely due to the exhaustive process being undertaken and I trust that this temporary delay will be kept in perspective and viewed in the context of the overriding objective that is the sustainable future of our club.

"I expect to be able to tell you next week what the outcome of this process is."
