HOLT UNITED 4 WEYMOUTH RESERVES 3
GOALS from Paul Ford, Mark Ford and Ashley Ayley were not enough to see Weymouth Reserves through to the quarter-finals of this year’s Dorset Senior Trophy.
Constantly playing catch up on their hosts at Gaunts Common, Weymouth, who had beaten United in both the Dorset Premier League and Dorset Premier League Cup prior to this meeting between the two sides, were undone by a strike from Nathan Saxby which proved enough to be the winner.
Holt will now go on to face Sherborne Town Reserves in the last eight next month.
Meanwhile, the second round tie between defending champions Chickerell United and Parley Sports was called off for the second time on Saturday.
The winner of that tie will face Sturminster Newton United.
SENIOR TROPHY QUARTER-FINAL DRAW
Bridport Reserves v Dorchester Sports, Merley Cobham Sports v Balti Sports, Sturminster Newton United v Parley Sports or Chickerell United, Sherborne Town Reserves v Holt United.
