BRIDPORT chief Trevor Senior is “more than happy” with his side’s current position but is hopeful the Bees can kick on in a jam-packed January schedule.

The St Mary’s Field side, currently 10th in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, have a number of games in hand on those around them going into the new year.

Bridport kick off 2016 with an away trip to Hallen tomorrow (3pm). The Bees came from 2-0 down at St Mary’s Field to win 4-3 during the reverse fixture between the sides in November, which was the start of a run of four straight wins for Senior’s men.

The Bees’ manager told Echosport: “November was probably not such a good month for us because we went out of three cups.

“But December was a great month and, hopefully, January will be even better.

“It’s an important month for us really. I am more than happy with where we are at the moment.”

Despite his side’s defeat at Street on Boxing Day, a game in which he felt his troops were unfortunate, the Bridport manager insists his charges are going into the new year full of confidence.

He added: “There is always a good spirit at Bridport anyway but wins breed confidence.

“It has been more of a team effort rather than relying on one or two.”

Warren Byerley is back available this weekend after recovering from illness. Dan Peach and Darren Watts could drop down to the reserve squad to get some game time.

Senior also indicated that Ryan Dovell is waiting for the all clear from the hospital before returning to action following an injury to his cheekbone.
