DORCHESTER Learning Centre’s karting team have qualified for the South West National Schools Championship after topping a tough area qualifier at the Wessex Raceway, Salisbury.
The A team of Matt Cheshire, Luke Higson and Troy Lemm competed with style and consistency, racing against seven other teams and produced several first places as they dominated from the very first race.
With each driver having to race two races, Dorchester topped the league.
Meanwhile, the B team of Owen Freeman, Tyler Jacob and Micheal Read raced well and finished a creditable fourth against some stiff opposition.
The A team now move on to the finals to be held at Thruxton on Sunday, April 24.
Karting project leader Steve Campell was thrilled with the boys performance and said: “It’s great that we have qualified for the SW National finals.
“The boys have worked really hard not just on their racing skills but also maintaining the karts.
“The centre would also like to thank Lee Renison and all his staff at Clay Pigeon Raceway for their encouragement and support.
“They have been brilliant with the boys and helped us to produce an excellent
team.”
