WEYMOUTH Reserves will find out on Thursday whether they will be promoted from the Dorset Premier League or if they are to remain in the division.

The Terras requested to be promoted before the end of the season after ending their campaign on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Sherborne Town Reserves.

The options open to the club are promotion to the Sydenhams Wessex League Division One or the Toolstation Western League Division One.

This will be decided by the FA on Thursday

Manager Bradley Asagba has no idea where the club will end up next season, preferring to leave the decisions to others at the club.

If he were to choose though, Asagba would like to play in the Wessex League.

He told Echosport: “Me, personally I would like to play in the Wessex League but it isn’t down to me.

“It’s up to the people in the corridors of power at the Bob Lucas Stadium to decide our next move.”

Regardless of the league they find themselves in next season, the manager is looking forward to taking the team on next season with improvement the key for him.

“There has to be progress,” he explained. “It may be a reserve team, but we are Weymouth and you have to win matches week in, week out.

“I expect us to be competitive and we have to surpass our performance from this year and we need to eradicate our mistakes to go forward.”
