GOALKEEPER Lee Can-ham produced a flurry of fantastic saves to help lead Bobby Dazzlers to glory in the inaugural five-a-side league at Weymouth College.

The Dazzlers took on Brothers Grim on finals night and seemed in complete control when they raced into an early 3-0 lead thanks to a brace by Jimmy Douglas and a strike by Ryan Pratt.

But their opponents refused to lie down and by half-time they had pulled two goals back through Dan Mitchell and Mark Nicholson.

Suddenly Brothers Grim were now in the ascendancy but they were unable to make their pressure count at the start of the second half as Canham came to the Dazzlers' rescue on several occasions.

Brothers Grim's failure to find a leveller was then punished as Pratt got his second and Douglas completed his hat-trick.

The game looked to be over but Brothers Grim bounced back again with efforts from Nicholson and Sam Culpin to set up a tense final few minutes.

Dazzlers came under severe pressure as their opponents poured forward but man-of-the-match Canham once again pulled off several fine blocks before Pratt hit his third to wrap up a 6-4 win.

In the Plate final, goals from Joe Dyett and Paco Bayona in extra-time gave Royal Rejects a 4-2 win over Lager Louts.

Weymouth College Fitness For Life Sports Centre duty officer James Fegan said: "Both finals were played in good spirits and were a fitting ending to a successful first season of five-a-side football here at the Weymouth College Sports Centre"

The summer five-a-side league at Weymouth College will start on Monday July 2 between 7-9pm and costs £5 to enter a team.
