WEYMOUTH skipper Dean Janaway has admitted that his team will just be glad to see some action tomorrow (1.30pm).

The Seasiders have had their last two Dorset Funeral Plan League Premier Division games called off due to the weather and they are keeping their fingers crossed that the same does not happen this weekend.

Janaway said: "The weather has been unbelievable lately and now we are entering the second half of the season we just want to get back playing because the summer is short enough as it is."

If the game at Redlands does go ahead then Weymouth will be clear favourites to win. Not only have they taken maximum points from their last four games but they also defeated Wimborne & Colehill by 53 runs on the opening day of the season.

However, Janaway refuses to under-estimate his side's opponents. He added: "When you are on a run of form the last thing you want is interruptions.

"We have not played much cricket over the last seven to ten days because we have not even been able to do much practice. We have set a standard and we want to continue that.

"Wimborne are a dangerous side. They have a good batting line up that is more than capable of chasing down a score but we had a good win at their place earlier in the season and despite not having played the last couple of weeks we are still full of confidence."

Weymouth will make one change to their starting line up with vice-captain Dave Pearce replacing Ben Doidge. Janaway said: "Dave has recovered from his hamstring injury so he will come back in. It is unfortunate for Ben because the last couple of weeks have proved to be a missed opportunity for him."

Weymouth have been named the Dorset Funeral Plan team of the month for June. The Seasiders will be presented with a bottle of champagne before tomorrow's game.

Weymouth: Ryall, Janaway, England, Payne, Belt, Steadman, D Pearce, M Lawes, Whyte, M Pearce, Trotter.

n Weymouth Seconds will travel to Hamworthy Recreation tomorrow in Dorset Funeral Plan League Division Two (2pm).

The Seasiders captured a comfortable nine-wicket success over Rec at Redlands earlier in the season but they will not be taking their opponents lightly.

Budd said: "We can't be complacent. Next week we have got the leaders Shroton so we can't afford to drop any points or lose. We need to get back in the swing of things.

"It is not going to be a walkover by any means but I am pleased with the team we have got even though Chris Lawes is out with a knee injury.

"Dan Hutchens is back to replace him and Ben Doidge will also come in.

"Tomorrow is also Simon Browne's last game before he goes back to football duties.

"He may be able to play again but only at last minute notice."
